The aim of this paper is to provide a scoping review of the foresight literature across different sectors and fields. The present review covers 15 articles published in the past thirty years (1990-2023) using the Scopus database [i]. The main definitions, objectives, processes, methods, advantages and challenges of the field are identified, as well as gaps and directions for future research. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing a clear and comprehensive picture of the current state of the foresight literature and by providing a roadmap for researchers who wish to enter the field.
