Since a few decades ago, migration to big cities has become an increasing trend. The consequences and reflections of this massive population movement have made governments, especially in underdeveloped countries, to move in the form of building new cities to manage this population overflow. This is despite the fact that these cities do not have the environmental capacities, especially the water resources necessary for the migrant population. Therefore, the water security of newly founded cities is one of the important concerns of the management of these cities. The newly founded city of Mehestan in Alborz province has such characteristics. The current article, which is usually applied and the methodology governing the research, is descriptive-analytical and is based on the explanation of the possible future scenarios of water security in the newly founded city of Mehestan. Library and field methods, analyzed and analyzed using Micmac, and Scenario Wizard software have collected the data required for the research. The results of the research showed that out of 19 possible situations related to five scenario models with strong compatibility, the situations that express the water security in front of the new city of Mehestan on the verge of crisis include the most possible situations with 36.84%. Therefore, the water security situation in the new city of Mehestan is on the verge of crisis. Planning and implementing sustainable water resource management policies using modern technologies and strengthening water storage and distribution infrastructure were proposed
