Today, the concept of the vitality of a place or the spirit of a place is one of the most important issues facing contemporary urban planning. In the past, cities had a high ability to establish interaction between humans and space. But today, in most cities, spaces are created that lack identity and meaning and are just imitations of other examples. In the future, cities will need more aspects of social and environmental psychology. Therefore, research on the characteristics of future cities based on environmental psychology is necessary and inevitable. This research is in line with the physical relationship and spirit of the city and the citizens in the neighborhoods of Rasht city. The research method of the present research was applied in terms of purpose and inferential statistics in terms of nature and method. The required information has been collected using the library and field method. The tool for collecting information is a researcher-made questionnaire. Cronbach's alpha obtained in this research was equal to 0.970, which indicates its strong reliability coefficient. The statistical population in this research is the residents of Rasht city. The sample size was determined based on the Cochran sampling formula of 386 people. In the findings of the research, the dependent variable has the ability to estimate the improvement of the spirit of the place by 81%, and the spirit of the city and citizens by 85%. In addition, the spirit of the place has the ability to estimate the improvement of the identity of the place by 92%, attachment to the place by 91%, dependence on the place by 90%, and the spirit of the city and citizens by 72% has the ability to improve the vitality, 80% of health, 90% of comfort and 87% of beauty. . As a result, the quality of the artificial environment of urban neighborhoods as a factor at the middle level with other factors at the micro and macro levels has a synergistic effect on the mental and environmental health of citizens and permeability, safety, security, accessibility, climatic comfort, beauty and community. Adaptability are the most important qualities; which should be considered in the neighborhoods of Rasht city.
