The aim of this paper is to provide a scoping review of the foresight literature across various sectors and contexts. This review covers 15 articles published over the past three decades (1990–2023), retrieved from the Scopus database. Within this domain, the key definitions, objectives, processes, methods, benefits, and challenges have been identified, along with existing research gaps and directions for future studies. By offering a clear and comprehensive overview of the current state of foresight literature and presenting a roadmap for researchers interested in entering this field, this study contributes to the advancement of existing knowledge.
