The agile city, as a new vision for future urban development, relies on flexibility and advanced technologies to create an intelligent and sustainable environment capable of rapidly adapting to climate change. Inspired by software development methodologies, this approach focuses on enhancing urban resilience in the era of climate change. The aim of this study is to examine the role of the agile city in shaping future cities and to propose practical solutions for implementing this vision within the urban contexts of Iran. In terms of purpose, the research is applied and developmental and is conducted using a descriptive method. Data were collected through documentary research, drawing on credible sources related to the agile city concept. Qualitative content analysis was employed to analyze and interpret the data. The findings indicate that by utilizing principles such as dynamic flexibility, advanced technology, collective participation, and green sustainability, the agile city can effectively respond to climate change. Characteristics such as rapid responsiveness, urban intelligence, future-oriented design, and ecological balance also help cities confront climatic challenges. However, the implementation of the agile city faces challenges including technological limitations, managerial constraints, social disparities, and a lack of financial resources. For successful implementation, strategies such as developing technological infrastructure, strengthening citizen participation, sustainable resource management, education, and inter-institutional coordination are essential. These strategies not only help mitigate the impacts of climate change but also lead to the creation of sustainable, resilient, and adaptable cities in the face of changing environmental conditions. Ultimately, the agile city can be proposed as an innovative solution for addressing climate challenges and creating a better future for cities.
